Mads Nissen has been awarded at POY – Pictures of the Year International 2018 with the “Award of Excellence – Photographer of The Year“, with his work accomplished in Colombia for Politiken.
After meeting with President Juan Manuel Santos, Danish star photographer Mads Nissen and award-winning journalist and author Dorrit Saietz have created an impactful portrait of the new Peace Prize laureate. By using a camera and a pen, they portray an intimate and powerful depiction of the Colombian people, who are tired of war and violence, longing for peace and already living the peace, building it day by day.
Mads also won the Second Place, in “Portrait” section for his reportage about the refugees stuck on the front gates of Europe, accomplished for Politiken.
